Clay sculpture for your home and garden

I create one of a kind ceramic sculpture in numerous types of clays including porcelain and terra cotta. My inspiration is sparked by my love of nature and the creatures that inhabit the earth, sea, and sky.

My hands are my tools and I work in the moment. I pinch, push, and press clay seeking to discover the life hidden within. My four-decade fascination creating Fein-art in clay keeps my imagination engaged with the limitless creative process.

I have created hundreds of ceramic sculptures for clients all over the world. The portfolio archives below show a wide selection of various sculptures.

Mermaids & Fish Sculpture

I live in Maine near the ocean surrounded by mountains and numerous lakes. I love swimming in our crystal clear waters and sailing over the water's surface, often dreaming about the world beneath the water line. I find inspiration in the world that exists hidden underwater. It sparks my imagination to create whimsical clay mermaids and fish, inhabiting a magical underwater realm.

Outdoor Sculpture

It is not unusual to find visual cues in a tree trunk that spark a connection with human characteristics such as, a human face, or rounded torsos. I often walk in the forests that surround my home and studio to find fascinating trees with human-like limbs, torsos, and faces. In response to my intimate link trees, I have created a series of tree-like sculptures with human attributes. They express humanities deep bonds with the natural world.

These garden sculptures are made of durable stoneware clay to endure Maine winters. Commissions for large garden sculpture are welcomed.

Figurative Sculpture

My figurative sculpture follows the tradition of ancient artisans who created the human form in clay. I am intrigued by references from various cultures' early texts, expressing that humanity was made from clay. In Greek mythology, for example, Prometheus created men from clay, while Athena breathed life into them. These stories about humanity's perception of self inspire me to hand-form clay into our own likeness revealing the fragile balance of our human existence.
